1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Creator profile — linked Instagram account, content categories, and follower count.
- Brand information — company name, industry, and contact details.
- Payout information — bank or payout details for withdrawals, stored encrypted at rest.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed and actions taken on the platform.
- Device data — IP address, browser type, and operating system.
- Cookies — used to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as language.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Instagram (Meta) — when you connect your account, we access the Instagram Insights described below via the official Instagram Graph API.
- Google Sign-In — if you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (name, email, and profile picture) from your Google account.
2. Instagram Insights & Your Reels
When you connect Instagram, you grant KoLink access to Instagram Insights for your own content. In plain terms:
- Why we collect it — to verify your linked account (username and follower count) and measure how your submitted Reels perform (views and likes) so we can calculate what you have earned. Without Insights access, your earnings cannot be tracked.
- How earnings are calculated — campaigns pay per 1,000 views (a CPM rate set by the brand). Your earning for a Reel is views ÷ 1,000 × the campaign's CPM rate, within any minimum/maximum the campaign sets. Views are tracked for the campaign's tracking period (7–30 days, set by the brand at creation) after approval, or until the campaign ends — whichever comes first — after which earnings settle to your wallet.
- What we access — only the metrics for content you submit to KoLink campaigns. We never post on your behalf, read your direct messages, or change anything on your account.
- How to disconnect — go to Profile → Instagram → Disconnect at any time. Disconnecting removes your linked handle, follower count, and stored access token from KoLink and stops further tracking. You can also remove KoLink from Instagram → Settings → Apps and websites.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the platform.
- Process campaign participation, review submissions, and calculate earnings.
- Process payouts and withdrawal requests.
- Send service notifications, account updates, and important announcements.
- Detect and prevent fraud, including analysing view and engagement patterns to confirm traffic is organic and authentic.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- Between brands and creators — campaign-related information such as your public creator profile and submission performance.
- With service providers — vendors that help us operate the platform (cloud hosting, media storage, email, and payment processing), under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons — when required by law or to protect our rights and users.
- In a business transfer — if KoLink is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
5. Data Retention
We keep your personal information until you delete your account, or for as long as the law requires (for example, financial records may be retained for several years). After deletion we remove or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, while preserving anonymised financial history as required.
6. Data Security
- Encrypted (HTTPS) transmission.
- Hashed passwords and encrypted storage of sensitive data such as Instagram tokens and payout details.
- Restricted internal access and regular security reviews.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal information (subject to legal retention rules). You can request deletion from your account settings or by contacting us.
- Disconnect — unlink Instagram at any time from your profile.
8. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, but disabling them may affect some features.
9. Children's Privacy
KoLink is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from minors and will delete it if discovered.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-platform notice. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated policy.
